Digital Strategist

Five Interesting Facts

  • I once ate a habanero pepper whole (seeds and everything) and almost died … only a slight exaggeration. Now I love hot food more than ever.
  • I got my first job in advertising at Y&R Calgary after being the first ever UofC student to be shortlisted for the Ad Rodeo Student Advertising Competition in 2005.
  • I have a double concentration BCOMM from the Haskayne School of Business in Marketing and Tourism, but I spent my full first year of University in Computer Sciences.
  • In 1992 when I was in Grade 7, I was awarded second place in the University of Waterloo’s GAUSS mathematics competition.
  • I love the Calgary tech community and I get involved as much as I can: I held a two year term on the Digital Alberta Board of Directors as the VP of Southern Alberta; I helped organize three TEDxYYC events (including the inaugural event in 2010), and I am currently helping to organize of the Global Game Jam and the Inter-Agency Coalition – which I founded with two other Calgary agency dudes.

Adam has a background in both traditional advertising and digital strategy. After being hired right out of University by a worldwide advertising agency, he has since worked with some of Canada’s top brands like the Calgary Stampede, Corus Entertainment, ENMAX, Mark’s, SMART Technologies, and Sport Chek. He’ll fully admit to being the office nerd when it comes to digital trends and emerging technologies, which he’ll happily discuss if you have an hour or two. He has also won a number of awards, including an Anvil Award for “Best Use Of Social Media in an Advertising Campaign.” Adam is not only a go-getter at work, he’s also very active in the digital community in Calgary. He has served a two year term on the Digital Alberta Board of Directors as Vice President of Southern Alberta, he also co-founded the Inter-Agency Coalition, is currently running the Global Game Jam event and he has helped to organize three TEDx events as a member of the TEDxYYC committee.
